The official declaration of this alliance lays out the principles for overcoming interoperability obstacles, focusing on developing standards and supporting the collaboration aspects amongst several web3 stakeholders and other industries.
OMA3 (12) has been demonstrated as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) (13) to safeguard a transparent, user-centered governance system that focuses on efforts for pivotal metaverse-related standards and concepts such as NFTs, protocols, the portal between the virtual and physical worlds, transportable identity, indexing, and mapping.
The user's avatar is intended to be more than just a computer representation; it should also carry the user's reputation for other people to see on-chain, along with all of the NFTs they have acquired, earned, or created, as well as a complete history of their transactions and likely a prediction of future actions they will take.
Understanding the Metaverse Interoperability
The metaverse promises to provide consumers with an immersive and enhanced experience by creating a real-world, living digital environment that allows the physical and virtual worlds to collide. Also, with a chance for businesses to alter their conventional goals and the capitalist system, they developed a digital economic system that international governments even acknowledged.

The third layer is the content layer, which consists of certain platforms and applications that give the metaverse and its users a rich and authentic experience. The fourth layer, known as the True metaverse, comes last and is produced after all the lower layers have taken effect because it is these layers that create the ultimate virtual universe.
Why is interoperability crucial for the metaverse?
The driving factor behind the metaverse, which fosters ongoing engagement and user continuity on the metaverse platforms, will be interoperability. The internet is made up of layers of structures that let various networks and subnetworks connect and communicate with one another.
Users can use browsers to surf through various websites, and web pages are available on the internet that can be linked with one another. As a result, a system or networks that are compatible and connected are created and joined in layers to form the Internet.
It is analogous to real life, where people travel around with their possessions and identification documents wherever they go with little to no difficulty. Similar to this, interoperability is essential for linking various metaverse projects so that users can enjoy a consistent experience and participate in various social and cultural metaverse activities.
While some metaverse NFT distributors have already set up the game with NFTs being usable in some metaverse games, increasing not just the engagement and users but also advancing the gaming economy, as these NFTs allowed games to earn while they played, which also marked the formation of play-to-earn, move-to-earn, play-to-win, and many other concepts, this has attracted more players towards the gaming community (14).
Additionally, this made NFT enthusiasts more aware of the possibility of purchasing or even renting virtual land spaces or in-game inventories for selling and renting. The most eye-catching aspect of this metaverse is that its expanding economy and high user interaction attracted the attention of people who were not at all interested in the idea in the first place.
The metaverse can also make a significant economic contribution by creating opportunities that are open to all while allowing users and developers to cross the fictitious border without government interference or strict regulation from centralized bodies.
The 3D internet, with users spending more of their time in the virtual universe than the physical universe, is increasing as more brands resemble their establishments online. Although many more improvements and inventions are yet to be made, the developmental possibilities are comparable to those in the real world.
